The Amber Fort is known for its artistic Hindu style elements, a series of gates and cobbled paths. The Fort overlooks Malta Lake, it took 25 years to build. The opulent palace is laid out on four levels. We will be guided through them and learn about their rich history by English speaking guides. Pointing out valuable information about the architecture of this palace, one of which is the Sheesh Mahal ( Mirror Palace).
After we will proceed to Jaigarh Fort, located just behind the Amber Fort, its Military structure containing the largest cannon on wheels in the world.
The fort was built to protect the Amber Fort and the Palace complex.
Lunch at Rambagh Palace Restaurant, the former residence of Maharaja of Jaipur and now a hotel.
The best time to visit the Monkey Temple is in the evening…catching the sun down from above the Sun temple dedicated to Surya the Sun God, overseeing all of Jaipur.
The rise to it is a beautiful walk, through the hills of Galta, It's an ancient Hindu pilgrimage site. The site consists of several temples and sacred water tanks in which pilgrims bathe.
The Main Temple is built in Pinkstone and it features a number of pavilions rounded roofs, carved pillars and painted walls, all surrounded by natural springs and waterfalls. It gives a home to thousands of monkeys, hence the monkey temple.
After you will be ready for tea or a gin and tonic at the Krystal Bar at the hotel, or rest Yin … a SPA treatment.
For dinner, you can dine at two different restaurants in the hotel, or take a ride into Jaipur dining in a restaurant recommended by Caroline or the concierge. Room service is available 24 hours.
After yoga and breakfast, we head to the City Palace in Rajasthan's capital.
It is the residence of the former ruling family of Jaipur, known as the Pink City, Jaipur adopted its distinctive roseate hue under royal decree in1876 to welcome the future king of England the son of Queen Victoria King Edward Vll.
The City Palace sprawling stunning example of Rajput and Mughal architecture, where descendants of the royal family still live today, we will tour parts of the private residence.
Hawa Mahal- 900 windows built so the woman of the royal household could observe street festivities, all within the walls of the pink city, old Jaipur. There is a Museum, with artifacts of warfare, that’s a must see.

After lunch, we will visit Jantar Mantar…something that deeply impressed me. 19 architectural astronomical instruments, featuring the world largest stone sundial.
Build and completed 1738 to use astronomy and the design of these instruments to understand Hindu Sanskrit.
The Instruments allow the observation of astronomical positions with the naked eye.
The Monument expresses architectural innovation, as well as coming together of ideas from different religious and social beliefs in 18 century India.
Making some time for shopping in Jailer's great Bazaars……
We Embark on a 3-hour drive through India, to Pushkar, one of the 5 sacred pilgrimage site for devout Hindus.
According to Hindu theology, the holy lake of Pushkar was believed to be formed by Shiva. The story goes, that when his wife Sati died, Shiva cried so much and for so long, that his tears created two holy lakes, one in Pushkar another in Pakistan.
Pushkar is one of the oldest cities in India.
The Brahma Temple built during the 14th century is very busy with devout Hindus and tourists, very few temples to Lord Brahma exist anywhere in the world.
After honoring the Temple and Lake we will enjoy a Camel ride for a few hours, taking a break around a fireside and have Lunch.
The animated and exciting streets of Pushkar, will be fun to walk in and do some more shopping before returning to Jaipur.
We will be returning late in the afternoon and the next day it will be off to Agra seeing the Taj Mahal. Then it is on to a Yin Class or your choice to rest.
After yoga and breakfast, we will move on to Agra, a drive about 4 1/2 hours, through the country of India. Making a stop at a great restaurant, with some amazing shopping, we will arrive in one of the finest architecture marble
The Taj Mahal. A mausoleum in the city of Agra. build in 1632 by emperor Shah Jahan to rest his favorite wife of three.
Construction of the Mausoleum was completed in 1653 at a cost of 52.8 billion Rupees converted to $827 million dollars in 1653. Designated a UNESCO world heritage site.
We will end the day on the arrival visit the Taj Mahal. Arriving late in the afternoon. Maybe yin, shopping in the busy streets of Agra, a little sightseeing, or a peaceful moment at the pool site of this just build in 2014 Hilton Hotel, with tea.
Dinner as a group in a great restaurant, with entertainment, of henna painting, magicians, music, and dance the Riaco Restaurant, beautiful gardens.
The Taj Mahal..and all its splendor.
We will hop on a train, a great experience in India is to ride on the train, it is very romantic…to the holy grounds of Varanasi.
Varanasi, where Buddha is believed to have found Buddhism around 528 BC, where he gave his first sermon.
Hindus believe that death in the city will bring salvation, making it a major center of pilgrimage. The city is known for its worldwide Ghats embankments made steps of stone slabs along the Ganges river banks. In Varanasi, death spirituality and commerce are all relentlessly on display. We will spend time at the Ganges and Ghats. Also visiting temples.
Sunset will be a must to return and watch priest and pilgrims hold a ceremony that includes prayers singing and the highly choreographed use of incense, bells and drums, horns and ornate oil lamps, which young priest move in graceful circles.
Dinner in Varanasi in one of its many beautiful restaurants. Early night for a wake-up call at 4:30 am to see the beautiful Sunrise from your own Boat on the Ganges, The first rays reveal the ancient stone edifices of one of the world oldest city, all along the river people swim and bath and pray.
Breakfast back at the hotel, inspirational yoga class.
Off into the busy holiest city of India, visiting Temples and Bazaars.
Later a Candlelight Yin, Group Dinner.
Next Day back to Dehli.
